1. Who is responsible

Medical data of patients is processed under medical secrecy by the treating physician, Dipl. med. Charalampos Romanos, Praktischer Arzt FMH, who is responsible for the medical records.

2. This website

This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no tracking. When you visit it, the hosting server automatically records technical data (IP address, date and time, page accessed, browser) in server logs. This is needed to operate and secure the website. The server is located in Germany (EU), a country with adequate data protection.

3. Enquiries

If you contact us by email, we process your details to answer your enquiry and, where applicable, to prepare and carry out a partnership.

3a. Online registration and payment

When you register through the form on this website, you send us your name, date of birth, sex, contact details, address, the chosen package and your answers on acute symptoms and pregnancy. The data is transmitted encrypted and delivered by email to our mailbox on the server in Germany. It is used to prepare the lab order, the medical review and the appointment.

Payment is processed by SumUp (SumUp Payments Limited), which processes your payment data under its own privacy policy; we do not receive full card details. The payee for medical services is the practice of Dipl. med. Charalampos Romanos.

4. Patients referred by partners

To provide medical services, we process personal data including health data: name, date of birth, contact details, address, medical history, laboratory results and medical reports. We do so to provide the requested services, on the basis of your consent and the treatment contract.

Recipients:

  • Swiss accredited laboratories that analyse your samples.
  • For functional tests (e.g. GI-MAP, DUTCH, Organic Acids Test): our supplier and specialised laboratories abroad, including in the EU and the USA. The USA does not have data protection recognised as adequate by Switzerland; transfer takes place only with your explicit consent.
  • The partner company that referred you, only with your separate written consent and only to the agreed extent.
  • IT and service providers (e.g. practice software, email, payment), bound by confidentiality.

We do not sell personal data and do not use it for advertising.

5. Retention

Medical records are kept for the period required by cantonal health law. Other data is deleted when no longer needed, subject to statutory retention obligations (e.g. accounting).

6. Your rights

You may request access to your data, its correction or deletion, or a copy of your data, and you may withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. Contact info@romedix.ch. You may also contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).

We may update this privacy policy. The current version is published on this page.
